Building Boundaries with the Karpman Triangle
15 CE hours
1251 Kemper Meadow Dr. STE 100
Cincinnati, Ohio 45240
8:30am – 5:00pm everyday
The Karpman Triangle is a familiar relationship dynamic that most clinicians see their clients engage in. The three roles – victim/martyr, perpetrator/offender and rescuer/enabler – are extremely common in those affected by chemical and behavioral addictions. By educating on these roles and then providing direction on the importance of being accountable, looking for options and learning to negotiate, clinicians will have another set of tools to use to help their clients decrease conflicts in their relationships.
This two-day training event will provide clinicians with new insights into the Karpman Triangle and practical applications to use with their clients. Effective ways to conceptualize the Karpman Triangle and identify ego states within this dynamic will be showcased.
Clear strategies will be provided to help clients move off of the triangle, skill build and develop boundaries through an experiential process. These strategies can be used with most clients.
1. Comprehensive education on the Karpman Experiential Process.
2. Each participant will have experiential knowledge of how to facilitate the Karpman Experiential Process with clients (individuals, couples and families).
3. Feedback given and received from the participants in the workshop.
